Community Information
Emeryville's
community is both intimate and diverse. Though the city began
over a century ago as a modest tract of land north of Oakland,
it has since blossomed into a unique city in its own right,
offering first-class education,
health,
cultural, and
government services.
Emeryville is served
by the Emery Unified School District, which enrolls
approximately 700 students in its elementary, middle, and high
schools. A city-sponsored child development center serves pre-schoolers,
while the trilingual Pacific Rim International School serves
Japanese, Chinese, and English-speaking elementary students.
Emeryville also
offers myriad services for its senior citizen community. A one
million dollar renovation of the Art Deco Emeryville Senior
Center has made it the regional focal point for more than 1,000
senior citizens and their families.
Here you can learn
more about Emeryville’s schools and
health services, read the
complete story of the city’s history,
discover what the artists’ community has to offer, and find
plenty of links and information for
local and regional governmental bodies.
